Swedish Berggren Enamelware

Yesterday I had to have a screen redone so luckily, the place I have it redone at is right next door to my favorite Goodwill store.  I popped in and saw this Swedish enamelware pot.  I bought it, and came home to research it.  It is called Berggren Enamelware.  I am assuming that Berggren is a person.  But when I google the name, I just get the enamelware.  I only found one other identical match, but it had sold, so I do not know the worth of the piece.  But there are many other pieces with the same art work design that I love.

I used a Swedish translation on line to see what it says.   "Own Table To The Best Of All Earthly Gifts"   This was the literal translation, and I am assuming it says something like, From table comes earthly gifts?  Anyone speak the language?  I would love to know.
It has the steamer pot inside with a removable divider.  It is all in very good condition.

I paid 5 dollars for this.  If anyone knows anything about this enamelware, or the artist who developed it, I would love to hear what you know.
It is still quite warm here.  And it is supposed to stay in the high nineties until Friday.  The evenings are cooling off though.  Here is Diana, my son's girlfriend, trying out my new Fall throw.
She is always cold!  Well, as I was telling her last night...it was way down to the low 80's!!!
Cheerio for now.

I really love those kinds of designs! My cousin has a large cookie tin that looks like that (but it's probably a bit more Amish-inspired than Swedish). She told me I could have it if I she ever found a new tin of that size. I've been on the lookout but of course no luck...yet :)

Love that enamelware pot, I don't know anything about it but it reminds me of my Georges Briard enamelware canister. I'm using the coffee canister to hold all my spoons and spatulas by my stove. Great deal on that!!

Kris,
So funny that she is wrapped in a blanket when it is low 80's. She would have a fit if she felt the 40's or 50's. :-)

It's been down in the forties here at night but going up about ten degrees in the next few nights....we will be getting back into the low 80's this weekend. I am always cold too but then who wouldn't be with these temps.

Great Goodwill find, Kris. I don't know a thing about the design other than I really like it. Love the divider that lets you steam 3 different things at once. Very handy!

Hey!!! There's a coffee pot with a rooster on it on ebay right now. Here's the link http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-Berggren-Swedish-Enamelware-Rooster-Coffee-Pot-/160653567865?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2567b2e779. The outside looks great but the inside is rusty but you could use it for a vase. Love the pot it's a killer deal! Hugs, Annie

You're quite the bargain shopper ;) You always find cool things.. And, I'm like Diana, I am usually always cold, but pregnancy has changed that.. I'd rather be freezing and be under a blanket, than be stifling hot.. lol

My grandmother went to school with the artist of these. I don't know his first name, but he went to Minnehaha Acedemy in MN back in the early 20th century. At some point moved in Chicago and started his business. I don't have any other information than that.
