While The Fisherman's Away, The Wife Will Play

Yesterday morning I got up early and worked in the yard a couple of hours, and then met my Mom over at Gennifer's salon while she did my niece's hair.  I wish I had my camera with me, because we talked Deanna into getting some feathers put into her hair.  So cute!!  After Mom left, I had to go to the feed store for chicken supplies, and right next to Linda's Feed, is a GREAT antique/thrift/vintage shop that I love to browse in.  This is the kind of store where you really have to search.  In my search, I found another set of vintage tea towels that I love!
These tea towels are so cute.  The colors are perfect.  And they go with those Rooster dishes in  the Sun Up pattern that I am working to find.  They are in perfect condition, which is always a plus!
I love the wheelbarrow of gourds, and the sunflower poking up from the picket fence!
I have been on the lookout for a new pair of cowboy (cowgirl in my case) boots.  I found some I love yesterday.
Cute off......Cute on......
Now all I need is a horse.  Maybe some spurs.  And a few more prairie skirts.  And my vintage trailer to go Glamping in.
I am doing a little more fall decorating every day.  My fall color on my front door.
A fall flag came out.  Some fall pillows on the front porch swing.  Mums in the planter boxes.
 Scarecrows and mini flags.
In the next few weeks, the fall quilts will come out, dried cornstalks will be on the porch, pumpkins everywhere.  Not too much Halloween for me, not my favorite holiday.  But lots and lots of pumpkins and gourds will stay until after Thanksgiving.
I find my thoughts drifting back to that day 10 years ago, where so many lives were lost and changed forever.  My flag waves, does yours?

Whatever you are doing this Labor Day Weekend, I hope you are enjoying some relaxation, some family time, and safe travels.
See you soon.

There's something about the "posture" of the rooster that cracks me up - it's very cock-y, hahahaha.
Hey--did you ever find out if Ham was a rooster or a hen?

Love the towels...what a find and all right close by...I'd be in there digging around every day!

I love your new tea towels and they go perfectly with your colors & dishes you're collecting. Kris, I loved reading about all your decorations-we are so much alike in that area. I don't celebrate Halloween at all, just harvest. I took down some of my patriotic stuff yesterday and brought out more apple stuff-will wait a few weeks for pumpkins etc-since I leave them up until Thanksgiving. Love your boots too-with a prairie skirt you'd be all the rage.
Have a delightful day and great day tomorrow.
Hugs, Noreen

~your house is darling.
It just does not feel like fall here yet. Yesterday was 110, however we are getting a break this coming week. I think the high is 105. YA! lol. That's bad huh? excited for 105? I love all your thrifty/antiquy findings! You have the exact tastes as me when it comes to decorating/unfortunately, i never decorate. I want to, but just don't. I really think I need to buy a 'welcome' flag like you have. The one I have now is a welcome flag with an apple on it, which was good for back to school, but this is the only one I own. Maybe I'll pop by JOann's and see if they sell the small ones. Your scarecrow is cute too. :)
have a great day! my friend is having an ice cream social with the gals. she is much older than me, so I always feel kinda outta place. she is 70! but she has had no kids, so she still acts like one LOL.

I am in the mood for fall too. I am in Utah right now and the mornings and evenings are cool and brisk. Unfortunately, when I get back to Mesa, I'll be dealing with summer for another six weeks.

Girl, you sure are scoring at the thrift stores lately. Love the cowboy (girl) boots. I saw a cute pair at a thrift store with spurs on them. I though about them, but then was not sure if girls wear spurs??? Enjoy your time alone (sorda, at least without hubby). I always like my time alone to shop.

So, Friday I went to all the ATV {antique/thrift/vintage} shops in the area looking for tea towels like in your last posting. Not a one. That's our new code for fun wandering day on the search. ATV, we will call it.

So, my friend, I of course want a pair of those boots, too. But, probably not as much as Pammy down in TA-HAS.

Looking good on the decor. Isn't it fun to get out those fall colors and spread them around.

I will still be on the hunt for some fall tea towels. Keep your fingers crossed. I think I need to head out a little further west on my ATV search this week.
