Fun In "The Bear"

Hello from Big Bear again.  I don't think I posted any photos from day two up here, so here are a few.  We mostly spent the day on the lake.  It was breezy and chilly on the water, but that didn't stop us from having fun.
Such happy faces.
I have a photo of my husband doing this exact same pose on the front of the boat that my son is doing here.
We cruised the lake, and did some fishing.  Caught a few trout, but let them go.  We made picnic lunches and had lots of good snacks, and a perfect day.
I have no idea what Noah was yelling in this photo, but I love the looks on both he and Claire's faces.
I slept like a rock again the second night.  This is what we saw upon opening the shades in the motorhome.

The moon was still in the sky, and it was so still and pretty outside.  Geeps brought me a cup of coffee in bed to have while I caught up on my favorite blogs.
My son Drew and his girlfriend Diana arrived from the cabin and I put them to work making guacamole.
Despite the breezy and cooler weather we are having here, both of them got quite sunburned the day before and were pretty ouchy!
We loaded up and headed out again for a day on the water.
I finished the first book in the 50 Shades series.
Hannah caught her first fish, and reeled it in all by herself!!!
It was a good sized rainbow trout, and we cooked it for dinner.  Geeps took a swim and thought it was refreshing.
Hannah and Claire wanted to go swimming in the worst way.  We told them it was cold.  But they wanted to go in.  So their Mommy and Daddy got them all suited up.
Jake jumped in first.  Then Hannah was brave enough to jump in.
But she climbed the ladder back out almost as fast as she jumped in!!!!
Next Claire decided that she should try it for herself to see if the water was as cold as everyone was saying.
But she was not about to stay in that lake!!!!  Now they know!!  Big Bear Lake is COLD!!!!
I will see you tomorrow with more fun on the lake.
XO  Kris

Kris, it looks like you all are having a blast! The lake we go to is a wilderness type camp, no cell phone coverage, from the lake you can't see any of the campsites... so the shot of you reading blogs in bed with coffee cracked me up. No electricity either! We head there in the 2nd week of Aug. As I say, you guys know how to have fun! ((hugs)), Teresa :-)

IT looks like a perfect day, even that very sad, cold face in the last picture. Love that your family is so close and loves to be together.
Have fun,
Meredith

Thanks for sharing your adventures with us, Kris! I have fond memories of our family times at Lake Tahoe and Trinity Lake, both known for being cold , too.
I am so excited that our forecast is for HOT weather, finally :)
Continued joy to you and yours...

As always, I enjoy an time I can spend with you and your family at "The Bear". Another priceless trip. That last photo is a keeper. Blackmail for those teen years. Hope you all get home safely and can get everything put away and relax.

Wonderful day in the yard. 5 days straight over 100. It was nice to finally throw open the blinds and head outside.

Big Bear Hugs,
Kate

Awwww, that last picture just makes me want to grab a nice warm blanket and wrap it around her and snuggle her up. Highly doubtful that she will forget that experience and the look on her face says it all. What a wonderful bunch of family photos, just perfect for a lovely scrapbook.

What a wonderful camping/boating trip, Kris! Your poor grandgirls did find out the hard way that the water is cold!

So, what did you think of the book? I've heard so much buzz about it.
