Letting Your Hair Grow Is Hard!!

I have been letting my hair grow all summer!  Gah!!  It is hard!!  My hair grows really fast though, so in that respect it is good.  But trying to figure out what to do with hair that is not long, and not short, is hard!!  I have bought some pretty new headwraps, and clips.   Those are kind of fun.  But more often than not, my hair is clipped up on top of my head to keep it off my shoulders!  I have thick hair, and lots of it, and it has been so hot here.
Finally it is long enough to wear in a pony tail.  But taking a picture to show you, didn't turn out to be so easy.  See what I mean.
Oops.  Let's try that again.
Oh, wait a minute, that one is worse.  One more try.
There we go.  The back.  Now let's see if I can get one of the front.  And not show too much of the turkey neck, fat bat wing arms, or wrinkles.
Woopsie...let's see....
Now here is a little secret.  The pony tail is a clip on fall.  The color is a good match.  I just put my own hair in a pony, and clipped it on.  Erika didn't like it.  Noah said...."Gramma, why you have fake hair?"  I just went to show Gennifer.  She said we would play with it this weekend.    We are going away on a ladies only weekend.  My Mom, my sister in law Glenda, niece Deanna, and my two girls.  We are going to Pala Casino.   We did it a couple of years ago and had the best time.  They have a beautiful pool, and nice rooms.  Several great restaurants, and of course, the possibility of winning lots of money in the casino....Not me, I never win, but my Mom does!!!    My Mom rented a cabana for the day on Saturday.  They have fridge, sofas, nice overhead fans, waiter service all day, and then private lounge chairs for the pool.  It is great fun.  We are all very excited to go.  Greg is going up to the mountains for the weekend.  We have lots of friends up there so that should be fun for him.
See you in a few days.
Melting in Corona.
XO  Kris

Hi Kris,
LOL enjoying your attempt of taking a picture of the back of your hair. Boy that is a feat in itself. Seems as we get older our attempts of doing things just take a little longer and a lot more adjustment.! Your trip with the girls sounds so nice. Hope you all have a good time.Enjoy the time together. And hope it is cooler for you .
hugs, Eileen

It looks very nice on you that way. I have thick wavy hair. I'd love to go get mine cut short as usual if I COULD JUST GO OUT!

You found one! I love the phony tail. In fact, my kids like it too. They say I look younger:) So did their friends. Needless to say I bought two more LOL. Rock it Kris.

This is such a timely post for me, since I just made an appointment to cut mine all OFF. I think it's the heat. I just spent months growing my hair out, but I feel like a sweaty mess most of the day.
That hair extension looked cute on you from here, I bet you could do a lot with it. Have fun on your girly trip, good luck at the casino!

Why is your butt so skinny? Why are you looking so amazing? Why don't you have any wrinkles around your eyes? I'm not sure we can continue to be friends unless you agree to grow old with me and start looking the part of a grandmother. Have fun in San Diego, Sweet Pea.

I think your fake hair is darling. A girls gotta do what she has to do to let the locks grow out. LOL Great photo shoot by the way. Love it.

You look adorable, stop being so hard on yourself. I have very thin, crappy hair. I am going to let the gray grow in naturally now, and I am in desperate need of a hair cut.
Have a wonderful time with all the ladies, it sounds fabulous.
Hugs,
Meredith

Kris! Guess what! It was over 100 degrees here yesterday! [But most of our tomatoes are still green :)] I have managed to capture my hair into a ponytail lately, too, but yours is definitely more impressive than mine:)
Happy weekend to you and yours!

You know I like your short do' a lot...but you're rockin the longer hair too! I wouldn't have know that was a fake pony tail...it matches up so well with your hair color. How awesome though is it to have a daughter that is a hair stylist?! I recently tried to talk my nephew who is going off to college to go to beauty school instead. He looked at me like I had two heads! Oh well...I tried!

Love your hair and you get major points for trying to get a picture of it. My hair grows very fast and is now way too long. It needs a trim desperately. Have a great weekend!

Your hair looks so cute, Kris! I love the pony! Mine is too long right now, but I think I need one of those pony tails for thickness!

A girl needs a little pick-me-up-do every now and then. I think it looks just fine. I wish I had thick hair, but alas it is straight and thin, down a bit past my shoulders and most times in a pony tail too. I got so use to keeping it up and out of my face because of nursing school and then all the years at work. For years I kept it permed but got tired of the "poodle look", lol. Hair in the eyes drives me nuts.
Have a good time with the girls. Good luck and hope you hit a jackpot. We have a new casino up around Toledo, Hollywood Casino. I have been there 2 times, unfortunately both times a loser :(

Hi Kris. I found your blog through Lynne at pieceful. I really enjoyed this post. You sound like my kin of person. However, I'm not into growing out my hair. I like it short! The pics are so funny. I also read down through a couple of other posts and my heart feels for you. Both of my kids live about 200 miles away. While it's not that far, I have RA and it's not easy to visit often. My son has 3 children, beautiful, wonderful littles ages 3, 20 months and 6 months and my daughter is expecting her first in January. I'm sure your son will be fine and will make you even more proud of him than you are now. My son moved to GA when he graduated and I wanted the earth to just swallow me. I cried an cried but it does get easier and skyping is a wonderful thing. Looking forward to enjoying more of your posts. If you've a mind to, drop by mine at grammybraxton.blogspot.com

Dear Kris.. I have hair just long enough to whirl around and clip on top of my head for a curly pouf and I just love it. A guy recently called it my "rooster tail". :-)

Now.. about your son moving away. ::sigh:: You know I can fully relate and feel for you on this. I admire his bravado, but know full well about your worry. Just take heart in that he's doing this while young and not when he's married and taking 2 little granddaughters that far away. And you will enjoy visiting him there. All I can say is I'm sorry you're having to deal with this. I'm here for you if you want to talk. ((hugs)), Teresa :-)

Love your upside down self-photos! It's photography yoga!

I sympathize with your grow-out pain--there is no help for that in-between stage, although I think yours looks way cute. If that's a fall, it looks real. I, myself, look like a bag lady.

Pat @ Mille Fiori Favoriti said...

Kris you don't look old enough to be a grandmother!

I keep my hair fairly long as I can't live without a pony tail in the summer. I have lots of thick hair and it's too hot!
