Easter

Greetings!  I have a few quick pictures to share.  We had a lovely Easter Sunday at my Mom's house.
As always, the food was terrific.  We all bring different things, and have it pot luck style.  Our family is too big for the sit down meal!!
My baby brother requested that I make the Bunny Cake.  And I was happy to oblige.
I noticed while getting the dinner together, that the cake, which was sitting on the counter in the kitchen, was missing a piece.
Then, just a while later, it was also missing an entire ear!  Hmmmmm.  Who could that be?
I think it may have been baby brother?
Before we left, I had made up some Easter baskets and things for my family.  I made some embroidered hand towels, and thought they were cute.  The lop ear bunny was for Mom.
I made an Easter basket of fresh oranges for my brother and sister in love.
I stitched out a Spring finger tip towel for her.
The grand kids all got a little basket too.
They had a fun Easter Egg hunt at Mom's house.
My three babies.
My son Drew, big brother Dave, and nephew Chad.
My handsome hubby.
We had a really nice day.  Thanks Mom!!!
The baby chicks all went to their forever home on Tuesday.  Sunday night, after getting home from my Mom's, the entire family next door came to see them.
Noah and the little girl up the street saying goodbye.

A co worker of Greg's took them.  Goodbye little Chicklets.  I will miss you.  And I will never forget my first experience with incubating and hatching our very own chicks!!!
XO  Kris

It looks as though you had a lovely Easter Kris. So much fun with family. I do miss having kids around on holidays. We had dinner with friends, but without our kids it just isn't the same. I love the baskets you made up and the hand towels are perfect. You are so talented. I laughed at your brother sneaking the cake. That's something my middle son would do. :-). Did you get your trailer? What kind and how big? Please put pictures on your blog. I love looking at trailers. I've had the icky plastic faucet at the kitchen sink for four years now and last summer it drip, drip, dripped all season long. We weren't there much though with all of my "stuff" going on. This year I plan to practically live there if I can so Dennis wanted to put a new one in. I wish we could do the same in the bathroom but they aren't as easy to find replacements for. It's been a great week for me and I'm looking forward to the lake tomorrow. When are you going to take your new trailer out for the first time? Will you go different places each time or find a place to leave it like we do? Have a wonderful weekend my friend. I sure wish we lived closer to each other.
Blessings,
Betsy

Your bunnies were both so cute and it was fun to see your brother especially enjoyed one of them! I'm glad you had a good time at your mom's. It is exciting to know that your first hatched chicks are already settled in their new home and that you are looking forward to hatching more in the future. We are having a sunny few days and the good weather is a favorite topic of conversation! We just had an impromptu picnic on a blanket outside for lunch and my little grand girls enjoyed noticing the first white blooms on our huge wild cherry tree and pink blossoms on one of our little fruit trees. Hoping you and yours have a happy week, Kris xxxxxx

So cool that they hatched. Looks like a great Easter. I miss having Easter at my grandma's she lived on a lake too.

Happy Spring.

What a lovely day, Kris! Your table looks wonderful and you had me laughing with the missing ear on the cake! How fun to raise your own chicks!

What a nice gathering you had with your family! You're so lucky that your kids live so close to you. Our son #2 is moving down to the Temecula area. How far are you from there? When they get settled down there we'll drive down to visit. It would be fun to see you when we're down there. ((hugs)), Teresa :-)

Oh how I love a good pot luck! I think this is all we ever do when we get together with family! Your Easter sounds and looks wonderful...being with family. We were alone this year just the three of us...and it just didn't even feel like Easter. And, are those pretty paper plates I see? So smart!

Good-bye sweet little chicks. I bet you miss them so much. Looks like your Easter was so much fun. Your Little Brother is a hoot eating parts of the cake on the sly.
Hugs to you Kris,
Meredith
