Ahoy Matey.....We're Back From Our Cruise!

For Christmas this year, my Mom gave the family a weekend cruise to Mexico.  Unfortunately, on such short notice, my kids were not able to attend.  Eri and Jer are getting married in two weeks, and he works weekends, and Gennifer and Jake could not have made arrangements for the girls in time to go, and Jake also works every other weekend.  Drew, having just moved out,  also had to work..  So, even though we sure did miss our kids, the rest of us, 19 in total, all had a wonderful weekend away.  We were SO lucky to have had PERFECT weather!  Most of us didn't pack for the sun, so we were pretty surprised to be spending most of our time in bathing suits by the pool.  Who would have thought that mid January would have been so warm?   We took off on Friday, about noon for San Diego, where we were to get on the Carnival Cruise Ship.
The drive down was beautiful.  Arriving in San Diego, this is what we saw.  Stunning views of the San Diego downtown skyline.

The air was filled with excitement, as people were parking their cars, and quickly retrieving their luggage to hurry aboard The Carnival Fun Ship.   We took a rikshaw taxi to the gates, where we boarded quickly and effortlessly, in plenty of time to still check our luggage, and get our room assignment, all before happy hour!
Thanks "Mo!"  I know MY bag was one of the heaviest ones you had to peddle that day!
We got inside, and immediately started to unwind,
and have fun...........................................................
Grandma and Timmy were telling stories instead of paying attention at the mandatory safety meeting before leaving the docks.  At least Uncle Johnny was taking it all in.....just in case!

And we're off......Bye-Bye San Diego..see you in a few days..........

Uh...scuze me Kaylen, you don't even know that lady in the red shirt next to you, so why are you squeezing her, ah hem....fanny?

As you can see, it took us about....oh 1 second to unwind and start having fun!    You can see that we were all rarin' to go!   On a side note...the only ones to make it to our 8:15 Dinner call, were, Greg and I, Johnny and Sue and David and Glenda. The rest.....well, let's just say that from the photos, some of us need to learn how to pace ourselves.  I'm just sayin'..........
Stay tuned tomorrow for day two of our Fun Carnival Cruise Day at Sea!

This looks way past fun. I've never been on a cruise. I could use the break from the 12 inches of snow out my front door.

I am so sad that I wasn't there to share all of that fun!!!

I am laughing at Kaylen's comment. It totally does look like she is grabbing that woman's rear. I had to enlarge the pic to get a good look.

Can't wait to see day two!! Keep it comin...

I'm sad that Genny and Jake didn't get to go. If Jason and I were home last weekend, I seriously would have watched the girls! What's 2 more?!

Love the pics! Looks like a TON of fun! I LOVE cruises!

I too think Kaylen was grabbing that ladies butt...but (no pun intended) I think that lady was liking it. Looks like a great first day at sea and no sea sickness. Yay for you. Looking forward to day 2.
