Friday Finds

When I find something I really love, I want to share it.  This shampoo is from Trader Joe's.  It leaves your head and scalp with such a fresh and tingling feeling.  And it smells wonderful!  I can't remember the price, but it was not expensive.    It is called Tea Tree Tingle.  YUMMY!
Next to the shampoo is a new favorite find for hairspray.  I love Shaper, by Sebastian.  But it costs too much.  I found this at Target, a knock off, and it SMELLS the same, SPRAYS the same, FEELS the same,  with that nice NOT sticky feeling. BUT, it only costs about 2 dollars!  Gennifer (my hair stylist daughter) PLUG your ears!!!
Next is also a Trader Joe's find.  Tea Tree Oil  bar soap.  I have excema and it is especially bad on my ears and face.  UGH.  This is supposed to help.  I will let you know.
This find was at a consignment shop.  I am sort of nuts over flowers it seems.  I love the embroidered flowers and buds on this knitted spring sweater.  And I loved the crocheted picot trim!!

And as if there weren't enough blooms on it, I added a white Bloomie!
Oh my gosh...the wrinkles!!!!  I officially feel old!
Yesterday while out at the quilt shops, there were a couple of ladies talking about making a quilted jacket, and I remembered the one I made about 10 or so years ago.  Sharon, do your remember this?  I actually loved this cozy jacket.  You take a regular old sweatshirt, and cut it apart to use as the foundation for your jacket.  Them you quilt the fabric to each individual piece, and then put the whole thing back together again.  I LOVED this fabric, and still do.  I have a table topper of it too.
With my "Shabby Chic Bloomie" on it.

I think I am going to look for some nice big buttons to add to the front of this and revamp it.  And if I lost a little weight, it would even fit better, and I might wear it again!  Geez..wrinkles AND pounds!!  Ain't Fifty Fabulous!!!???   Had I used a water soluble marker for marking my quilting lines, the inside would have looked nicer.  Oopsie!
Some of the fabric and goodies I found on our quilting shop hop yesterday.

This Valentine panel didn't photograph well.  The color is a soft pink, with chocolate browns and white, and a deeper pink.  But it looks coral here.  It is not.  I am going to border it with the wild companion fabric on upper right.
Lastly for today, I had a surprise visit from my Dumplin's and they stayed for lunch with me.  While I was fixing lunch, Miss Claire got a big kick out of putting on all of Gamma's readers!!!  What a pip!!

Is she a cutie or what?
I did not get a photo of lunch, but it is another Trader Joe's favorite of mine.  In the freezer section, look for Chicken Gorgonzola.  It contains two nice sized chicken breasts.  Microwave them for 8 minutes.  Meanwhile, chop up some romaine lettuce and put onto a plate.  Chop the chicken breast diagonally, and serve over bed of romaine lettuce, and pour remaining juices from chicken sauce over lettuce and chicken.  I keep this in my freezer at all times for a quick meal.  My girlfriend Kathy served this to me once at her house, and I have been buying it ever since!!!  It sure doesn't taste like a microwaved frozen meal!!!

Thanks for sharing your yummy chicken gorgonzola today!! It was good. I will have to look for that next time I go.

Love your new blue sweater, and looks like you got some fun new things on your quilt shopping trip.

Sorry if I was not my normal chatty self today. We came home and I napped for an hour and a half and did not move. I guess this bug has just wiped me out.
Funny pics of Claire too.
See ya tomorrow. :)

If there's anything I miss the most about America it's the shops - I so wish we had Target and JC Penney and the likes over here in the UK. I really loved those stores!

So much good info in this post! I don't have a Trader Joe's that's very close but I may have to make the drive. I think that jacket is so cute and you, my darling, are even cuter.

I love your new sweater and the quilted jacket....soo cute...and your bloomie just finishes them off. I think you look wonderful, and I am loving the hair! Trader Joe's is so good isn't it? I am avoiding it right now though, haha. My "readers" are some of my grandkids favorites. ENJOY your week-end!

Aren't you just the cutest today. Adore all that you are working on. But, I must know about those glasses on your sweetie. Are they your readers or her's the polka dots are just too cute. I must have a pair.

Must get to bed now,
Kate

You are just as adorable as your daughter! Going to have to check out that shampoo. Did you know Tea Tree oil is great for keeping lice away (and getting rid of it too!). I always use a TTO shampoo on my ballerinas every now and then as lice prevention. ;)

I love Trader Joe's! I've used their shampoos, love the soaps and always find some delicious food items to just heat, serve and enjoy! That blue sweater "find" is gorgeous. I love the color and your "bloomie" sets it off beautifully! And the little one behind those colorful glasses is adorable--can't wait for some (little ones, not glasses).

Best,
Bonnie

I am so going to Trader Joes this week - I have it on my list of new places to try every week but I never get around to it. But this week is the week...and just this morning, I told my hubbie "I hate this shampoo" but I don't know what new to try. Voila:) and the blogs great!?!

And I have those exact readers! But I don't look nearly as sassy as she does! Why not??

Thanks for sharing!
