Helloooo Out There

So, I am putting my stuff in my car after coming out of Walmart this evening.  This man approaches me.  Says something about the moon.  I look up to make sure there are lots of people around me, because I was a wee bit frightened.  It was getting dark, and I had just set my purse on the seat of the car and went around to the back to unload my cart.  I locked the car doors, but I thought he was going to GET ME or something!!  He said it again, something about the moon, and I said..scuse me?  And then he said, this is the first time in over 100 years that the moon has traveled so closely to the earth.  Look at it.  I did, and then thought, geez..this loon is freaking me out.  I head for my car door, and  he says...."you know...when this happens, they say there are going to be a lot of earthquakes!"  I laughed an uncomfortable laugh, and got the heck into my car and sped away.  Weirdo.  Note to self....do not go out alone after dark!!!
I came home and took these photos.

I sure hope we don't have an earthquake tonight!!!
I made myself this lunch today.  It was so yummy.
I took two pieces of turkey and lay them out overlapping each other.  Topped with 1 slice of lo fat Havarti cheese, then a nice handful of spinach. Sprinkled some sea salt and ground pepper on top, then rolled it up, cut in half, and enjoyed every bite!
Tomorrow morning is weigh in. Wish me skinny thoughts.
Nighty night.

That is strange that he would approach you in the parking lot. But it's funny, my husband was telling me something similar the other day. Your turkey roll-ups looks good. I've been enjoying lots of salads lately. Good luck on your weigh-in! :-)

What is that glowing object just below and to the right of the moon? Did it land?

I'm liking the looks of your lunch!

Best,

Good for you listening to your instincts! I used to teach martial arts, and I believe that industry misleads women into believing that fighting is the best way to survive an attack. I disagree; survival is mental and listening to your instincts is crucial. The book "The Gift of Fear" by Gavin De Becker should be mandatory reading for all middle schoolers (male and female). I glad you got out of there. One other thing I would have done is report him to the store so they could watch out for other (more naive) shoppers. I love your blog. Karmen

First, interesting story about the moon man. Wonder what that was all about but glad you made it out of there safely! Second, love, love, love Havarti! Nice low carb lunch. I've been doing that with turkey low fat swiss and then I smear a little sun dried tomato hummus on before I roll it up. Good luck with your weigh in. I've only lost 2 more lbs since I posted my last weigh in. I just want pizza

One more thing, maybe he wasn't such a weirdo, see Jo's blog post yesterday: http://joannegooding.blogspot.com/2011/03/super-moon.html

Love ya

Hehehe good thing you don't live in Texas. We talk to strangers all the time! I don’t think Texans know what the word stranger means.

My fiancé’s family came up for their 1st Texas visit a couple years back and were shocked at the amount of strangers I talked to and stopped to talk to us. They thought it was neat and a little odd at the same time. Makes me chuckle. It just the norm around here BUT it’s always safe to go with your gut! If you were freaked out it’s a good thing that you got on your way!

I'm watching the news and they started talking about the moon just as soon as I started reading your post! It's suppose to be another "big moon" night. I'm going to have to check it out.

Anyhoo your lunch looks yummy! Good luck at your weight in. :o)

The moon was HUGE last night, but I didn't know it was the closest etc.

Fact: Earthquakes have zero to do with the weather. there is no correlation whatsoever...ask Dad.

Fact:I do NOT like you going to walmart or anywhere at night Mom! Why don't you call me next time? It's not safe!! Please don't do that anymore...& why don't you have mace? If you did...would you use it on your keys like your supposed to?? I will get you one...what color??? Oh & that guys is a creep waiting to creep on someone, that is not normal.

Fact: That lunch looks delicious!!!! And creative, yum yum!

Skinny thoughts~!! You're doing sooo good I'm sooo proud of you!!
XOXO

i hate going out at night by myself. then again~i really don't like being in parking lots by myself.
maybe he was just lonely~but you can never be too careful.
I noticed the moon too last night. Actually I noticed the sun setting a bright orange ball as the moon was already out. Tonight is the actuall full moon day~yes, it's closest to earth. neat!

Oh, that sounds scary. Yeah, I hate big parking lots at night. Only go out if I REALLY need to and only on my way from work so It's here in the S.G. Valley. I REFUSE to go out after dark where I live in LA or go into Hollywood just too many weirdos!!! You did the right thing by just getting on your way. Hmmm I missed the big moon? Tonight it will no doubt be cloudy and we won't be able to see it :(. Earthquakes, ya just gotta be prepared for the after effects (mess).

Great job on sticking with the wt. loss!

I am going to try your lunch - it looks delicious! Good luck at your weigh in. You have been doing an awesome job - keep it up! I am going to get back to it on Monday. I had spring break and lunch out everyday was not a good thing - well, it was when I ate it but then I felt guilty!

Lunch looks so good. I cannot believe the moon tonight...I thought I'd left on the porch lights. I'm leary of anyone talking to me in a parking lot at night!

I wished you skinny thoughts! Did it work? :)
Scary about the guy approaching you. But maybe he really was just trying to tell you about the moon. Those pics are great that you got. I didn't even see it.
Your healthy meanl looks tasty.
I just tried a new lentil organic soup from TJ's. It was good. For soup in a can. And not too high in sodium either.
Hope you girls had fun shopping today.

I need to take your turkey roll ups recipe and use it! Since I started working, I'm going out to lunch a lot more, and eating a lot more calories during the day. I need to bring a yummy healthy lunch like yours to work!

The moon is larger because it is closer to the earth. This happens approximately every 20 years. I was in Walmart a few weeks ago and it was dark when I left the store and there was a light rain coming down. Then I spot a man walking toward me. Quickly I get in my car. He says why aren't you putting your cart back where it belongs?! My reply through my slightly lowered window is It's raining! He walks away mumbling something. He freaked me out that's why I jumped in my car and left the cart. No more shopping after dark! Pat McDonald
