My Two Dollar Fifty Cent Table

I finished it.  I wish it weren't so dark.  I thought the color it was after the first coat was perfect.  Next time I will select a slightly lighter shade.  Oh well, live and learn.  Here she is drying.  I had to put the finishing coat on under the patio cover.  Woke up to more rain today.
Here it is in the house.  I am toying with the idea of moving all of my living room furniture around.
I painted the knobs with my oil rubbed bronze.  My "go to" paint.
This was really my first complete redo project like this.  I learned a lot.  I used the stain/poly in one.  I did like it.  I also suggest buying a very good brush.  I used a 2" brush by Purdy.  It did not show brush strokes at all, and did a great job.  I think a good brush is everything!
Now I need to find a nice little chair for the den.  I am on the hunt.  Which is sometimes, the best part.
This afternoon my brother David and his wife Glenda, and their kids Don and his wife Kaylen, and Chad, all came out to take me to lunch/dinner for my (pre) birthday.  We had a nice visit, and a good lunch!  Here is Greg showing them his "fix it" project for the day.  He put a roman shade in on my kitchen window.
There might have been a glitch or two. But if you see him, do NOT ask!!!
Anyway, it's all good now.
Think I will go work on my afghan a while.
Happy Sunday!

You did an awesome job! I have three pieces of furniture that I've bought at thrift stores that I've been planning on refinishing but just haven't done anything about it yet but I think I will now. I just bought really inexpensive items to practice on. Wish I were there to celebrate your birthday with you. Love ya!

You go girl! Kris, you get so much done and I'm glad to see that you don't let your bum knee slow ya down. Your table looks just fantastic. Great finds and such great prices. You and me both...would rather go to home improvement stores, thrift-ing, garden centers or craft stores than clothes shopping! I TOTALLY understand. Yup, I like fashion but I love making, buying and fixing things, more. Loving the rain as it will be HOT before we know it. How exciting that truck for Noah. Boys and dump trucks = perfect match! Congrats on the -8 lbs. You're doin' great!

Love it. You did a great job. what a find.

Trying to get ready to leave for Flordia this Saturday. And my mom just announced she is having spine surgery while I'm gone. Guess when it rains it pours. Can't really post about it all as she reads my blog now. So, I had to take break for a few days, to let the dust settle and get the brothers rolls organized.

Hope to post before I leave. I'm flying down 6 day ahead of Scott and then he flys down for the family gathering and wedding. So, nice to not be driving this year.

Camera and new laptop going for sure. Bathing suit, well, that's another story....he-he...it's been a long winter here.

Hi Kris,
I posted pics and reviews of the quiche I made, and I linked back to you for the yummy recipe. Thanks again for all the deliciousness you post. You're the good cook mom that I can try to emulate since my mom's cooking was a little scary. That's where I get my kitchen skills from, but you're helping me change that :)
